Dermot Mulroney & NBC to revamp “Rockford Files”

A new “Rockford Files?” – That’s right folks. NBC announces Dermot Mulroney as its new  Jim Rockford. In a report by Reuters, on Sunday, Feb 28, Mulroney will  step in the shoes of the legendary investigator  in an updated version of the hit 1970s TV series which starred James Garner as the lead. The new Jim Rockford is expected to be “slightly crumpled, wry humored, cynical, world weary, compassionate when it’s called for and easily irritated by morons.” The troubled past of this Rockford gets interesting; including some time behind bars as a convict and as a cop. From co-starring roles in “My Best Friend’s Wedding,” “Zodiac,” and “Young Guns” Mulroney has been famous for his work  on features on the big screen, most recently appearing in “Burn After Reading. “NBC’s “Rockford Files;” written by creator David Shore (“House”), and executive produced with Steve Carell.
