Amy Adams is Superman’s girl, Lois Lane

So far the casting of the new Superman movie is making all the right, and interesting moves. We like-y!!

Amy Adams

This just in, according to L.A. Times, Amy Adams (“The Fighter”) will play journalist Lois Lane in Zack Snyder’s revival-save of  “Superman.” The 36-year-old academy awards nominee got the phone call from Snyder personally who phoned her from Paris, where he was promoting his new film Sucker Punch.”

After meeting with Adams, Snyder was convinced that the actress was “the clear choice” to portray the iconic character, an independent, professional woman who can hold her own against any man, including one who flies in the air wearing a red cape.

“There was a big, giant search for Lois,” Snyder told LA Times. “For us it was a big thing and obviously a really important role. We did a lot of auditioning but we had this meeting with Amy Adams and after that I just felt she was perfect for it.”

Henry Cavill

Still hush-hush about the story line, the filmmaker said the role is “a linchpin” to the project and that he considers it essential that Lois, originally a creation of the late 1930’s– preserves her contemporary appeal for audiences of its 2012 release date.

“It goes back to what I’ve said about Superman and making him really understandable for today. What’s important to us is making him relevant and real and making him empathetic to today’s audience so that we understand the decisions he makes.  That applies to Lois as well. She has to be in the same universe as him [in tone and substance].”

Henry Cavill will become the man-of-steel, as Kevin Costner and Diane Lane are cast as his earthly parents, the Kents, who adopt the last son of Krypton.
