Plenty.
A book about bondage, discipline, sadism, and masochism mirrors America’s seemingly inherent need to often use violence not as a last resort to settle long standing disagreements with countries and individuals who don’t “think like red-blooded Americans,” but like the characters in the book, violence is used as a first resort. You don’t think of these 20 million readers, none have their hand in running (and often ruining this country); or they will run/ruin America in the future? Or, one or more of these readers will marry (or is married to) one of these super-power brokers? The startling sales figures reveals “America’s real DNA;” which is drenched in blood and the need to inflict pain.
Wow, 20 million readers of a soft core, bondage book; a book that twenty years ago would be found in adult book stores!
It’s unnerving to know that one in every twenty Americans have the mentality of gawking, simple minded, rubber necking drivers, who stop or slow to a crawl to watch the aftermath of a car accident then drive on; never wanting to understand or realize the reason for their need to witness “something out of the ordinary.”
And of course, much more erotic, soft core “Mommy porn” books and movies will be produced for the masses. After all, publishers and producers know America has a need to be spoon fed dirty, forbidden fruit…that is not-so-expertly disguised as a work of art.
