The new Wonder Woman is Adrianne Palicki

Adrianne Palicki is the new Wonder Woman, reports THR. The ‘Friday Night Lights’ (NBC) star will take on the DC Comics character in David E. Kelley‘s pilot for NBC. In this modernized, re-telling by David E. Kelley Prods, and Warner Bros. TV, Wonder Woman a.k.a. Diana Prince, leads a double life, both as a vigilante crime fighter, and as powerful female executive. THR also reported last October about a modern-day take on an iconic TV heroine, with Kelley’s name and Warner Bros. Television, both mentioned in the report.

With a pilot written by Kelley himself and Jeffrey Reiner (The Event) as director this can be an action-packed adventure with a female character that is a superwoman in many ways.
Kelley, also behind freshman legal drama Harry’s Law, had brought the project to the network once before, but NBC reportedly passed due to executive reshuffling.
In 1975-79 version of Wonder Woman, actress Lynda Carter cemented her place in pop culture history. Most recently, NBC’s tried to reeboot Bionic Woman, but didn’t seem to get much attention. Now with
ABC‘s Charlie’s Angels in the works and NBC’s adaption of British crime series Prime Suspect (with talks about Maria Bello as the lead), there is will not be a shortage of wonderous women dominating the TV set.
Hey, we’re not complaining.
