ELOGY is the “ONE”

ELOGY has been creating music for over 5 years. The “rocktronica” music of this Southern California band came together in a local warehouse where they initially met in 2006. Unlike most meet-and-jam sessions to get a feel for each musician’s style, the shy new members had a quieter approach. They spent time getting to know eachother before picking up an instrument. However, after the short-lived silence came the musical storm as the 4 original members began what they call a “life altering” experience.

The band’s front man Derek Canavo recalls: “It was a swift overtaking. We all immediately realized that whatever we were doing with our lives up to this point could not compare to the unearthing that just took place in a matter of moments. We had all played with countless other musicians, but those 45 minutes together birthed the universal conclusion that there were officially no other people on earth that we’d rather create and entrust our musical lives with.”

With classically trained pianists, multiple guitarists, drummers, and bassists, even certified sound engineers (all in one band), there was more than just the ability to play multiple instruments. Present was an artistic optimism, and ultimately a rare chemistry – something most musical groups desire but don’t often get. All those elements are present on ELOGY’s self released album “One.”

They are their toughest critics, but in the process, the band might share a new track with their international base of followers, making it an interactive, personalized treat every fan appreciates. The best part about ELOGY and their work is that they keep at it, creating music that’s not crap.

Beyond the rock-pop appeal, cracker-jack sampling, and its technical bells-and-whistles, the ELOGY sound remains beautifully organic forming a blessed union between great music and strong lyrics.
