We highly recommend Ben Affleck’s “The Town.” The film which had its debut at the Toronto Int’l. Film Festival last week, will surely become a multiplex favorite starting today, its U.S. release date.

Plot: Dough MacRay (Ben Affleck) is a top Boston thief trying to focus on the next big heist while struggling to manage his feelings for a new girl who also happens to be the manager at the bank he previously robbed. Chased by a committed FBI agent (Jon Hamm), it’s time to play cat-and-mouse in Beantown.

Why we love this movie? It’s all there:  ace cast, action, romance, suspense and drama. Since “Hollywoodland” we’ve been waiting to see Affleck flex his acting muscles again, and he nails it with a Steve McQueen~ish machismo and his own signature charm. Affleck proves an unmistakable amount of talent both as an actor and a director. “The Town” finally cements his place within Hollywood’s finest.

In addition to Affleck and Hamm, the film features superb actors: Jeremy Renner, Rebecca Hall, Blake Lively, Pete Postlethwaite, and Chris Cooper – another exciting casting, as refreshing as “Gone Baby Gone,” also directed by Affleck.
