U.K. sensation McFLY rise ‘Above The Noise’

posted Nov. 15, 2010

As UK sensation McFly release their new, and fifth studio album: Above The Noise, we realize they’re pretty… well, “fly” for a bunch of white guys.  See “shine a light” music video HERE or under Videos.

In the U.S. they are probably best known for being the band in Lindsay Lohan and Chris Pine’s 2006 movie “Just My Luck,” (this is back when Lindsay actually worked and was not such a big mess). But McFly has gone on to do pretty damn well showing they have some staying power and work hard for their place in the music world. They even formed their own record label: Super Records.

Impressed? It gets better!

Taio Cruz who was featured with the band in the video for McFly’s new single Shine A Light, recently praised them for their talents: “Those guys are all really talented. They play all their own instruments and write their own songs, they’re great.”

About the hi-energy video for the song, in which real fans were able to star in, the Dynamite singer said: “We’re all performing in this massive cage and they’re [fans] basically all around the cage, just getting as hyped as us.”

“We do a lot of rock jumping, fist pumping. It’s great.” He added.

Check this out. As of November 2010, McFly have had eighteen consecutive top 20 singles, seven of which reached number 1 in the UK Singles Chart and fifteen made it as top 10 singles. They even gave away their fourth album Radio:Active for free as a supplement in The Mail On Sunday (UK newspaper) in July 2008, before releasing it conventionally later in September.

Named after Marty McFly from the “Back To The Future” movies, McFly are: Tom Fletcher: Lead vocals and guitar, Danny Jones: Lead vocals and guitar, Dougie Poynter: Bass and vocals, and Harry Judd: Drums.

McFly’s new album ‘Above The Noise’ is in the stores today, and also available on itunes.
