Ryan Reynolds doesn’t turn green just on the big screen, for his upcoming movie “Green Lantern. He keeps it green, in his daily life, right here, on planet earth. The eco-conscious actor joins Nissan North America in support of the new Nissan LEAF, the 100% electric vehicle, hailed as the “2011 World Car of the Year.”

The campaign is called “Innovation For Endurance,” and it ties in a fitness regimen to help potential Leaf owners maintain a healthy lifestyle and hopefully look as fit as Mr. Reynolds.

With its own Facebook page in place, the program will utilize digital media, print ads, videos, and live events during which Reynolds is said to appear. Ryan Reynolds pictured with the Nissan Leaf

A new Nissan LEAF owner himself, the actor explains his proactive role, investing in a greener lifestyle. “I believe it’s possible to take great leaps forward without sacrificing a way of life. For me electric vehicles, like the Nissan Leaf, are not only representative of taking back the power, but also a significant statement about conscious ways of living.”

Also featured as a part of the program are major health and fitness personalities, such as: Olympian Ryan Hall (the fastest American marathoner), ‘Slim Calm Sexy‘ author Tara Stiles, and Levi Leipheimer (founder of ‘Strala Yoga’) and Chris Carmichael (three-time Tour of California champion; and coach to Lance Armstrong).
