Oscar-winner Kathryn Bigelow’s new film will detail the raid on World Enemy #1

The operation that resulted in killing Osama Bin Laden seems to be getting the Hollywood treatment almost overnight. According to Variety, Oscar-winning director Kathryn Bigelow (“The Hurt Locker”) is gearing up to do a film about the Navy Seal team who successfully targeted and killed the Al-Qaeda mastermind, and the plot-boss behind the 9/11 attacks on the U.S.

With her “Hurt Locker” screenwriting partner, Mark Boal, Bigelow had been writing a script about the search for the world’s enemy # 1. Now, they will rewrite the script to include details about the operation and the raid over Bin Laden’s residence in Pakistan, where he was shot and executed on-site.

With casting to be put in motion, at any minute, filming is expected to begin this summer.
