Paul Walker's relief mission: Reach Out World Wide
Paul Walker's relief mission: Reach Out World Wide

Paul Walker, most often known for racing around in fast cars with Vin Diesel, is not the California surfing hunk we pegged him to be. Well, he is, but that’s apparently not all he is.  Born and raised in San Fernando Valley, Walker began working in entertainment as a baby.  Literally, he starred in a Pampers commercial.  His mother was a model and consequently so was young Paul, until he parlayed his modeling career into TV acting (by the age of 12) and eventually film.

Some of his earlier flicks include Varsity Blues, She’s All That and The Skulls leading into the 6 times sequel-ed Fast and Furious saga.  He still resides in Southern California and does in fact surf as often as he can however, there’s a whole other side to Walker often unmentioned.

So we are going to mention it.

Paul Walker has spearheaded a relief effort organization called “ROWW”, or Reach Out World Wide.  Reach Out World Wide sends teams of medical personnel into disaster areas to aid in the treatment of those injured or affected by the tragedies.  ROWW spent time aiding in both Haiti and Chile after their devastating respective earthquakes.

Following the tragic events in Indonesia, Walker reached out via Twitter to help spread the word, which was the only reason he actually got on the social media bandwagon. Within days, his efforts to get donations through ROWW in order to deploy relief teams, paid off tremendously.  We also hear that Walker is currently building a home in Indonesia!

So, it appears, even heartthrobs in fast cars can surprise you.  ROWW is a great cause and we’re happy to help promote it.
